Theresa Heredia
Associate Winemaker

will supervise both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay production at Freestone under the guidance of Craig Williams, Director of Winemaking. Theresa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo and also completed three years of study in the Chemistry and Viticulture/Enology PhD program at UC Davis. After Davis, she worked her first harvest in 2001 at Saintsbury, and in 2002 was hired as a Research Chemist for Joseph Phelps Vineyards. For the 2006 harvest, Theresa worked at Domaine de Montille in Volnay.

Justin Ennis
Cellar Master

comes to Freestone Vineyards after nine years in the wine industry working as Cellar Master for Williams & Selyem Winery in Healdsburg, harvest supervisor for Villa Maria Winery in New Zealand, and Cellar Master for Vinas de Tupangato in Argentina. In addition to his extensive experience, Justin has taken extension classes from U.C. Davis focusing on viticulture, winemaking, wine analysis and tasting, and winery practices. He joined Freestone Vineyards in January, 2007.

Greg Cannon
Vineyard Operations Manager

graduated with a B.S. in Marine Sciences from S.F. State University, followed by extended education courses at U.C. Davis in viticulture and winemaking. Greg worked in the cellars and labs for wineries in both California and South Africa before coming to work for Joseph Phelps Vineyards in 1994 as a viticultural assistant. In 1999 he took on new responsibilities at Freestone which grew to full-time vineyard management duties in 2003.

Vineyard Supervisor

spent 13 years in Knights Valley for Beringer and 3 years in Sonoma County for Joseph Phelps Vineyards. This veteran of vineyard operations supervises a crew of 13 at Freestone Vineyards.

Pascal Marchand
Consultant

is an internationally acclaimed winemaker and past manager of Domaine de la Vougeraie as well as the estate of Comte Armand, Domaine des Épeneaux in Pommard. He also consults for wineries in Canada, Chile, Uruguay and Austria. A French-trained native of Quebec, Pascal brings his expertise in Burgundian winegrowing to Freestone.

Giovanna Mueller
 Office Manager

moved to West Sonoma County in 1998. An avid organic gardener and wine enthusiast, she feels that she has gone back to her roots at Freestone Vineyards as she came from a grape growing and winemaking family in California's Central Valley.

Today Giovanna lives in West Sonoma County with her husband, Omar Mueller, and two teenage daughters, Kathleen and Virginia. Her son, Orlando, is a student at the University of California in Santa Barbara.
